Description

Added by Lauren Schusterman

This is an easy, fairly flat loop that brings you by some awesome rock formations.  A great hike to do with people of all skill levels or a trail run for those looking for more of a challenge.

From Park Blvd you'll turn off onto a dirt road labelled with signs for Split Rock. At the end of the road there is a round about with parking and picnic tables.  Split Rock is at the parking lot and the trail starts from here. The trail begins from the left of Split Rock and is marked with a small sign. The trail is fairly poorly marked and is easy to lose. There are trail markers and cairns scattered about so do your best to keep track of these! The trail first meanders right and then will eventually loop back around and end at the parking lot.  Towards the end of the loop there is a .1 mile detour to Face Rock.  From here the trail is well marked with arrows.

While the rock that the trail is named after is at the start, there are many other fascinating rock formations along the trail which are well worth the hike!
