Camp in Dream Canyon
Boulder, Colorado
Description
Added by Will McKay
The camping in Upper Dream Canyon is simply beautiful and a great way to get away for a night.
Before camping here, please make sure you're familiar with Leave No Trace Principles. This is dispersed camping and a beloved location by the local community. Let's work hard to protect and preserve it.
When you're sitting at home for days on end, going through the constant routines of work, school, or utilizing your adult coloring book, sometimes one earns for something outdoors. And that is where Upper Dream Canyon comes into play. For myself, it's pretty easy to access seeing as I live in Boulder, Colorado.
If you aren't already familiar with the spot then I'll break it down using some rough directions. From Boulder, drive up Boulder Canyon to Sugarloaf Road. From there continue up about 3 miles until you reach Lost Angel Road (left side). Drive for another mile until you hit a sign that says North Gulch, continue to follow that until you reach the free parking lot.
From the parking lot, the campsites reside about twenty yards to the right. Now don't get me wrong, this is a pretty simple camping trip, typically this spot is used for climbers but non-climbers are welcome (I personally enjoy it more after climbing Dream Canyon).
All campfires are illegal in this area and the penalty for open fire violations is up to $5000 and/or 6 months imprisonment.

Reviews
This was such a cool campsite. My group and I had just been exploring around Boulder and decided to try out dream canyon for the night. The dirt roads led us to an incredible spot. The sunrise and canyon views were amazing. Thanks so much for sharing!
