If you’re looking for some more adventure other than well known theme parks you might be searching for something Florida is also famous for - their springs. With more than 30 in the state, Rainbow Springs is the 4th largest. Located three miles north of Dunnellon, this state park is open 365 days a year. The swimming hole is located next to a floating dock which is just a quick walk from the visitor center. The water is 72 degrees year round which is the perfect temperature to cool you off after a hot day. Don’t feel like swimming? There are trails with numerous waterfalls nearby. Tubing, kayaking, and canoeing are available as well. Admission is $2.00 per person.
Directions from I-75: Take exit 352 for FL 40 West. Drive until you reach the end and the park entrance will be located on the left.
