If you're not ready for winter to be over, check out these 5 must-do adventures to hit before the snow melts. From hot springing in the snow to skiing backcountry, Idaho is a dream for winter activity enthusiasts. So strap on your skis, zip up your winter coat, and head to the Gem State to beat the crowds and experience some EPIC winter adventures.

1. Soak in Burgdorf Hot Springs

Burgdorf is a backcountry resort nestled north of McCall, Idaho and provides an oasis for winter enthusiasts looking to backcountry ski, snowmobile, or snowshoe. The best part? A large, world-class hot spring to soak in after your epic adventures in the snow. The second best part? It’s only accessible by snowmobile. It doesn’t get anymore “Idaho” than that. So grab a fun group of friends and GO CHECK OUT BURGDORF. You’ll thank me later. Learn more.

2. Ski or Snowshoe to Stargaze Yurt

The ideal backcountry skiing destination is the Stargaze Backcountry Yurt. This is one of Idaho’s most sought-after yurts, and for good reason. Sitting at 6,570’ it boasts views of Scott Mountain, Jackson Peak, Wolf Mountain, Steele Mountain, Pilots Peak and the Sawtooth Mountains. Only 1.3 miles on snowshoes or cross-country skis and you’re in complete isolation. It’s well kept and has enough beds to sleep up to three couples. Catch this on a clear night and you’ll learn how it got its name. Learn more.

3. Photograph the Sawtooth Mountains

The Sawtooths are best enjoyed from within them. However, considering the amount of snow and freezing temperatures Stanley gets during the winter, this is more difficult than it sounds. So instead of freezing your pants off, take my advice and snap some pictures from these unobstructed viewpoints from the comfort of your heated car. Learn more.

4. Ski to Redfish Lake

Redfish Lake is a HOT tourist destination… in the summertime. In the winter, Redfish Lake Road is covered by about 3 feet of snow making the trek available only to those willing to strap on skis or snowshoes. Venture two miles down the road to complete solitude and absolutely amazing views. Be sure to pack an extra layer of clothes (Stanley is outrageously cold) and your camera. If you’re lucky enough to catch sunrise on a clear day you might be picking up your jaw out of the snow. It’s seriously one of the prettiest places I’ve ever been to.Learn more.

5. Soak in Kirkham Hot Springs

Beat the summer crowds and soak in the Idaho-famous Kirkham Hot Springs. While on a summer day these springs may see upwards of a hundred campers and visitors. On a winter day, however, you might have the whole place to yourself! These springs feature multiple pools of varying temperature and a warm waterfall to boot. Catch it on a snowy day for enhanced hot spring awesomeness. Learn more.
