7 Reasons to Escape to Lake Powell This Fall
Recapture those summer vibes.
When you're not quite ready to say goodbye to summer, there's an antidote for that: a trip to Lake Powell.
Less than 20 minutes from well-known Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend, Lake Powell is a reservoir on the Colorado River that is surrounded by towering red cliffs and sandstone in every color of buff imaginable. It's one of those rare places where you can paddle in the morning and hike slot canyons through the desert in the afternoon. And the best part? The temperatures stay summer-warm through most of October and November.
Some destinations take careful research and planning to make the most of the experience, but not Lake Powell. Lake Powell Resorts and Marinas, which operate "up-lake" in Bullfrog Marina, Utah, and "down-lake" at Wahweap Marina, Arizona, have everything from boat and water toy rentals to spacious accommodations, tasty dining, and campsites for tents, RVs, and trendy Airstreams. You can even rent a houseboat!
Still need some convincing? Here are seven reasons to escape down-river at Lake Powell this fall.
