8 Photos of Winter in Yellowstone National Park
Nothing compares to Yellowstone National Park in winter.
Most people visit in the spring and summer, but nothing compares to Yellowstone National Park in winter.
There are a few big differences between winter and the rest of the year:
1. No crowds. If you've ever been to the park during peak season, you know it can get a little crowded at times...but during the off season, it almost feels like you have the park to yourself.
2. Lots of wildlife. Regardless of the time of year you visit, Yellowstone is one of the best places in the world to view wildlife. The major seasonal difference is that a lot of the animals that spend their time at higher elevations during the warmer months migrate down into the valleys during winter. That means you have a much better chance of seeing them!
3. Snow. Seeing the Yellowstone landscape covered in snow is a necessity.
