Description

Days Fork offers amazing backcountry skiing for all skill levels. Its variety of steep chutes and excellent tree skiing make it the ultimate wilderness playground.
Days Fork is on the south side of Big Cottonwood Canyon behind the Spruces parking lot. The trail head begins on the south west corner of the parking lot. The approach to Days Fork is long, but gradual. Continue south along the skin track until you reach the end of the Days Fork Basin. Here you can make a right and head up the ridge line to Peak 10,561. From this peak you can either ski Upper Days to the skiers right, or traverse to skiers left and ski Main Days.
If you decide to keep left instead of going up the ridge line to the peak, you will be able to ski the main faces and chutes of Days Fork such as Jaws, Oingo Boingo, and Two Dogs.
You're overall elevation gain is about 3,390 feet with a max elevation of 10,561. Skinning distance is about 3.2 miles from the Spruces parking lot to the top.
Make sure to check to avalanche forecast for the day before you ever travel in the backcountry. Know before you go!
