Spend the night camping next to Lillian Lake and get away from the crowds at other campgrounds and enjoy peace and quiet.
We backpacked our way to Lillian Lake and set up camp. There is a trail that lead around the lake and a trail that leads up to Rampart Lakes and Rachael Lake as well. We found a few more camps spots on Lillian Lake, then we noticed that only ONE other camp spot was being used.
If you want peace and quiet I highly suggest this. After lunch we spent the rest of the afternoon fishing for lake trout, I went swimming and relaxed in the sun with no one to intrude on us.
You can pay $5 for a daily pass and the trail connects to Rachel Lake, Rampart Lakes and Margret Lake too. Be sure to have a map of the trail since it breaks up to other parking lots and lakes.
After we finished leaving we went to Red Robin in Issaquah for lunch. Another good place to eat is The Crab Pot in Bellevue, WA!
This trail also makes for a good day trip to the lake for lunch or a mountain run for a great cardio workout.
To get to the trail, exit highway I-90 at exit 54. If you are coming from Seattle, turn left at the stop sign at the end of the ramp. Proceed under the highway and continue a short distance to a stop sign. Reset your odometer here and turn right onto Gold Creek Road.
This road will parallel the highway for a while before turning up into the hills. At 2.5 miles it will turn to dirt. At 3.8 miles there will be a left turn -- DO NOT TAKE THIS. At 3.9 miles take the left fork. At 4.3 miles you will reach the parking lot on your left. The trail begins a hundred yards or so up on the left.
