Head out on Benjies Lake Trail early and you can have the whole place to yourself. So worth the short hike because at the end, you’re rewarded with a serene lake. We had the place all to ourselves! It was heaven!
Moose have been known to frequent here, but unfortunately on our trip, we did not get to see one. Gives us more reason to come back. It took us about 35-40 minutes out-and-back, but it will take you longer if you spend some time staring at the lake like we did. You’ll find easy parking at the trailhead. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
Most importantly as the national parks motto goes, "Keep it Wild, Keep it Safe," so stay on the marked trails and the boardwalks.

Reviews
This place was by far my favorite trail to hike. It’s a short trail, but the reward is worth every effort at the end. If you go early, you’ll have the lake all to yourself. It’s one of the smaller lakes but it’s by far one of the most serene. It also has convenient boardwalks in areas where the train gets difficult. But it’s fairly flat most of the way. There is also a number of parking spaces at the trail head.
