An attraction in the area not to be missed - The Franconia Notch Bike Path offers a nine mile, paved, multi use path that runs past some iconic New Hampshire landmarks and stunning scenery.
For the point to point option first drop a car off at one end of the trail then return to the other. The south end is located at the Flume Gorge Parking lot and the north end is at a parking lot located about a half mile off Route 93, Exit 35 which takes you onto route 3 (44°12'11.3"N 71°40'51.7"W). Given the scenery of this ride, making it an 18 mile out and back route is also a great option.
Presuming beginning at the Flume Gorge parking Lot: The trail begins at the woods edge. Duck into the woods and ride through wooded forest with bright green moss lining the path, here you'll encounter many small rolling hills. A rush of fun, there are just enough that you might start to wonder when they are going to end. The first attraction you will pass is The Basin. Continuing alongside the Pemigewasset River for a bit, next up is Lafayette Campground. A good pit stop for restroom and general store if anything is needed. Continue on past Profile Lake and a viewing point for the former site of Old Man of The Mountain, eventually passing by Cannon Mountain and Echo Lake. From here you are just about 2.3 miles to the finish. Take some time and enjoy the lake or cruise on to the final destination.
