This 5.5 mile bike trail leads to the Lake Clayton Beach Picnic Area - a great place to have lunch.
Getting There:The entrance to St. Croix State Park is located 15 miles east of Hinckley, Minnesota on Highway 48. It is another 5 miles to the Park Office.
The Paved Bicycle Path:The path is 5.5 miles long one-way and runs from the campground to Lake Clayton Beach Picnic Area. Be sure to stop at the park office for directions. The path is mostly flat which makes it ideal for a family outing. The path used to run through a heavily wooded area, but a devastating storm on July 1st, 2011 produced straight-line winds that topped 100 miles per hour which toppled thousands of trees, so many areas along the path are quite open. Be aware that there are areas of the path that quite bumpy.
In addition to the paved bike path, the park has 127 miles of hiking trails, 21 miles of mountain bike trails, and 75 miles of horse trails.
