Description

Added by Liam McNally

This is one of the few outdoor climbing sites in the city of San Francisco. The park has a storied history for climbers dating back to the 1940s. There are bouldering problems for beginning and intermediate skill levels.

Want to get out of the climbing gym, and do some bouldering in the city? Head to Glen Canyon park! After you park the car, take a short hike on a shade-covered path to the boulders. This climbing spot has history dating back to the 1930s when people first started scaling these boulders. This is also a great spot to get started as there are a lot of good holds and cracks on the faces.

Reviews

This is a great place to get your fix, work on technique, or to just give bouldering a try. This is mostly a long traverse. Start at the side closest to O’shaughnessy Blvd and work your way up the rock face. That’s the most common route. The stand alone Boulder can be used for footwork practice such as edging and smearing. Start by the Glen park neighborhood to grab some food before or after. Good burritos!
