Bouldering & BBQ at Stinson

Stinson Beach, California

4.5/5
based on 2 reviews

Description

Added by SuperTopo

There are problems for intermediate as well as more advanced climbers. There is a barbecue area at the beach to hang out and relax afterward. Duration: Half day.

Stinson offers up a great beach day with a few activities for everyone to enjoy. If you head toward the south end of the beach, you'll come across a few boulder problems, including the 2 most popular: Are You Experienced and The Old Man. Are You Experienced is the smaller of these 2 boulders, but offers up more of the challenging problems. It's also more accessible since it's further from the coastline, making it less tide dependent. The Old Man is provides a few problems and spots to toprope since it's higher, but is closer to the water, so it can get pretty wet when the tide rolls in. There are also several other boulder problems to explore with varying degrees of difficulty.

Reviews

Fun bouldering with lots of overhangs. Back when I climbed here, it used to be pretty close to a nude beach as well.

Try "Something Easy" (V2) boulder. Fun topout mantle!

I've always wanted to climb at Stinson, so why not BBQ as well
