Camp at Hayward Flat on Trinity Lake

Trinity Center, California

Description

Added by Garrett Schmidt

A wonderful place to kick up your feet, take a refreshing dip in a lake, and put any watercraft you have a float.

We drove all around Trinity Lake and this was the best campground we found!

Located right on Trinity Lake you will find Hayward Flat Campground.  From Weaverville California you will follow highway 3 north about 20 miles. Then take a right on Hayward Flat road two miles. Boom, you are there.

There are 98 camp spots scattered within the camp site. Water fossetts and bathrooms easily accessible throughout the place. Also, there are fire pits with grates at each camp spot.

Every site can be accommodating to each individual. There are single spots all the way up to large spots that can house a massive RV if that's your thing. Another great thing about this place are the first come spots. They save your butt when you don't plan at all. Speaking from experience on this one. For the planners out there you can reserve spots as well. The diversity of the campground makes it perfect!

Depending on where you find your perfect campsite, the lake is just steps away for the most part. And with the hot summers in California this lake is ice cold and refreshing!

There is a boat launch right at the campsite and a bigger boat launch just miles away.

Weaverville is close too, don't forget to stop at Tops Super foods. They have a great selection of beer and meat. And what adventure is complete without cold beer and meat on the grill?

Make sure you bring cash to get a spot at the front gate. Everything is self serve.  It was $20 a night for the single spot, and it goes up a little depending on the size after that. The season closes in September and opens back up in spring.

Bear and mountain lion are active in the area so please plan accordingly. Most sites do contain beer lockers to protect your food and trash.
