Camp at Indian Creek Campground at Yellowstone NP

Indian Creek Campground is located inside Yellowstone National Park, closest to the northern entrance of the park and just eight miles from Mammoth Hot Springs. It's open from mid-June through mid September and is just $15 a night to camp at. The campground itself is very well maintained and kept clean. It is also a generator-free campground, so enjoying peaceful mornings and afternoons in nature are easily attained. They have a variety of first-come, first-served camp site sizes (70 sites total) to accommodate groups of people or single explorers all the same. The campground has wheelchair accessible sites and vault toilets. 

The sites are pretty spacious, often with neighboring sites being separated by trees, providing extra privacy if you need it. Hammocks are allowed, however, they must be taken down if nobody is present at the campground. Wildlife have been known to get tangled in them, so they request you take it down when you leave to explore. You should also wrap a tshirt or towel around the tree before wrapping your straps around it to prevent chipping bark off. 

There is also a ton of black and grizzly bear activity at this campsite. Be aware of that and ABSOLUTELY put everything with a scent in the provided bear bins provided. The camp hosts will cite you if you leave anything out, including water bottles.

Please note, that although they have an Ice and Firewood station, you can't depend on it being open. If it is closed, either bring firewood ahead of time, or you can drive north eight miles to Mammoth Hot Springs and buy anything you need at the general store there. You'll also be driving around a ton, won't hurt to gas up there while you're at it. Cell reception is practically non-existent throughout the whole park, embrace it.
