Added by Jamie Fleck
Oh Ridge Campground is conveniently located right on the north east side of June Lake and offers stunning views of the lake as well as the numerous mountain ranges encompassing June Lake. The town of June Lake as well as Silver Lake, Gull Lake, and Grant Lake are all along the June Lake Loop with driving access from the campground.
Nestled along the shores of picturesque June Lake, is the Oh Ridge campground. Oh Ridge has access to the beach of June Lake via Pine Cliff Road, and the town of June lake as well as Gull Lake, Silver Lake, and Grant Lake are all within a short driving distance along the June Lake Loop. Mammoth Lakes are about 25 minute drive from Oh Ridge Campground. The campground is very scenic and wide open, with perfect photographing opportunities at night as well. There are many other activities available by Oh Ridge, such as fishing, boating, and hiking.
Oh Ridge consists of 9 different campgrounds, namely Bear, Coyote, Deer, Duck, Fish, Gull, Owl, Rabbit, and Squirrel. There are restroom facilities in every campground of Oh Ridge except for Bear and Duck. There are also water pumps at every campground. Bear and Duck have the best lake view campsites, especially Bear sites 6 through 10 and Duck sites 27 and 28. Please be respectful to wildlife, especially with the abundance of black bears in the area. It is mandatory that you keep any food or items with a scent stored and locked away in the bear lockers provided on each individual campsite. You can reserve a campsite via www.recreation.gov. The site fee per day is about $23- $25. The ranger at the station at the entrance will have your site tag ready for you if you arrive in the afternoon.
To reach Oh Ridge Campground via Highway 395 south, take a left turn at the gas station & diner on CA-158 (also known as June Lake Loop). From there you will travel about a quarter of a mile and take a right turn to head to the entrance of Oh Ridge campground. If you traveling on Highway 395 north, the fastest route to Oh Ridge is by taking the second right turn onto CA-158 (June Lake Loop). If you take the first right turn onto CA-158, it will be the most scenic route, passing Grant Lake, Silver Lake, Gull Lake, the town of June Lake, and then the entrance to Oh Ridge will be on your left.
