Camp at the Signal Mountain Campground

Moran, Wyoming

Description

Added by Christina Adele Warburg-Hon

Beautiful campground in the heart of Grand Teton National Park, right on the shores of Jackson Lake.

The Signal Mountain campground is my personal favorite campground in Grand Teton National Park as it is exceptionally scenic. It is right on Jackson Lake and has sites located on the lakeshore. Even if you don't score one of these sites, many of the others have great views of the Teton range. Most of the sites are shaded and private. There are several beaches on the shore of the lake that provide a nice way to spend an afternoon. A very short walk away is the Signal Mountain Lodge which offers laundry, showers, a general store and gift shop, marina, two restaurants, and a bar (make sure to try their famous nachos with one of their signature blackberry drinks, you will thank me later).

The two best views of the Teton Range from this campground are offered both at the boat dock and behind the amphitheater. If you are camping here absolutely make sure to watch a sunrise or sunset from one of these two locations. The amphitheater will also usually offer nightly ranger programs (depending on funding) and Christian worship services on Sundays.

The sites at Signal Mountain are offered on a first come-first serve basis and will usually fill around noon.Up to 30 foot RVs are allowed and a dump station is available. All sites are equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring and have access to flush toilets with cold running water.

Prices and opening dates can change by year, make sure to follow the link for the most up to date information http://www.signalmountainlodge...
