Camp Brooklyn Lake
Centennial, Wyoming
Description
Added by Kathleen Buenviaje
If you're looking for a stunning car camping campground with direct access to a lake, fishing and several trailheads, away from the busy crowds, this is the place for you.
The road leading to this campground is a rocky one, lots of dust and a bumpy ride lead to this mountain escape. The campground is situated just above Brooklyn Lake, about a 15 minute drive away from the Lewis Lake trailhead. It has a few first come first serve camp sites that you can try and swipe up, highly recommend arriving early as there are limited spots to this campground.
The camp sites are decent in size and have a good amount of space between you and your neighbor. If you're lucky you'll find a campsite with a few stumps you can use as seats, there is also a table at the site for your convenience.
There are a few different trailheads at the campground that connect to even more trails to allow you endless options of hiking and mountain biking adventures. If it's a weekend of just hanging out, you can set your chair on the lakeshore, throw a line out and relax all day and enjoy the peaceful views. Just a heads up, this lake is teeming with rocks that like to eat your lures, so bring extra in case your bait becomes the flavor of the day for them.
Fire wood is in abundance, so if its dead burn it, responsibly of course. Typically there are already stacks left at the campsite for you, but if you go hunting for more wood, stick to pieces that have already fallen or rotted out.
Don't forget to walk around the campground and lake, it's pretty calm and can lead to great times with great friends, OH! and you can bring your furry baby too, dogs love this place!
