This is a great, easily accessible sunset viewing spot, located in central Llano.

Located in the small but fun town of Llano, Texas, Badu Park is a great location for catching a sunset, fishing, picnicking, or just plain chilling. This location is located about an hour and a half west of Austin, Texas (75 miles) but is well worth the drive for a day trip!

The dam is a popular swimming, fishing, and photography spot. The parking lot is located right next to the dam and is easily accessible for those who are handicap. The park is dog-and child-friendly, as long as the dog is leashed and cleaned up after!

The terrain below the dam is very rocky and full over boulders. I warn you to be very cautious where you step as to not fall. But many of the boulders provide flat surfaces to sit on.

I highly recommend this location for watching the sunset because it faces west and the sun sets directly behind the dam. It's a beautiful spot.
