One of the best sunset you will ever watch!
From Rt. I-495 Exit 31, Gibbert Hill has one of the greatest sunsets around Groton, MA area. You will see a lot of cows and even a castle. This is a very easy hike and a not so easy place to park, you have to leave you car on the side of the road, which is totally fine, I guess, it is easy.
The walk begins along the fence, after few minutes up the hill on your right hand side you will spot Bancroft's castle. Built in 1906 by General William Bancroft on top of Gibbet Hill for his beloved wife. Unfortunately, the Groton Hunt Club used the bungalow for July 4 fireworks celebration in 1932, the bungalow caught fire leaving only the exterior stone walls intact. Since 2000, the "castle" and trails became part of Groton's protected open space and was opened to the public. You can freely walk through its ruins and you can still feel romance all over the in air. A few more yards ahead you will get to the top, the total hike isn't more than a mile.
Enjoy the sunset!

Reviews
I live just a town over and this is my favorite sunset spot. Bring a buddy and a blanket and it's just a quick walk to the top. On a good summer night, you'll get a beautiful sunset and catch some stars.
