Epic, inspirational, and romantic views of the most beautiful City on Earth.

A recipe for happiness in the "cool grey city of love."

To the seasoned San Franciscan there is no finer view in the Bay Area than that from San Francisco's front porch, Turtle Hill or "Grand View Park". If the North American continent / plate is a ship, then Grand View Park is the prow giving epic, vast views up and down the California coast and of Golden Gate Park, the Marin Headlands, Golden Gate Bridge and Downtown. Sunset here is simply breathtaking at all times of year.

Check online for the time of today's sunset. Look outside to see if Karl the Fog is covering the Sunset (and the sunset) and if not, make your way to the Inner Sunset to roughly 14th & Noriega.

Heed the advice of local literary legend Greg Kamiya and take a bottle of champagne with you, and then, with one grand park and one grand view and one man or woman who loves you, you've found a recipe for happiness that Ferlinghetti would approve of.

Great short hike to catch 360° views. If you plan on catching sunset here, be prepared for some wind and chills. If you’re lucky you may be able to see SF parrots flying around. This hike can be linked up with the 16th street stairs and the hidden garden stairs.

As others have suggested bring a light hoody / jacket as it can get windy. I made the walk from 18th and Judah with no issues. 20 minute walk approximately. Views are beautiful and captivating

Awesome view and beautiful sunset! Can get very windy and cold - definitely bring warm clothes ;-)

One of my favorite spots in the city to catch a great view! Not only is the mosaic staircase beautiful and a huge draw for this spot, it's a great place to see sweeping views of the ocean, the bridge, the bay, the park, the city, all of it! Whenever I have friends in town, I take them here and wait for the happy reactions :)
