Climb the Mana Wall in Boquete

Los Naranjos, Panama

Description

Added by Carter Clark

Challenge yourself on this world class basalt. There is no approach, other crags are surrounding you, and an amazing Panamanian town is just downhill.

Getting to the Mana Wall from Boquete, you can ask a taxi driver to take you to "Los Ladrillos" then when you arrive at the Gunko Wall (highlighted in another Outbound Adventure), just continue 100 meters down the road and the Mana Wall will be on your left. If you are driving, parking is best in the open picnic area across the street.

The climbing here ranges from 5.10a to 5.13a. If you want a bit of a warm-up that is easier than this, a quick walk back down the street to the Gunko Wall is a great option. The climbing is easiest on the left and hardest on the right, with the middle section for the most part following the same general trajectory.

There is no opportunity to set up initial top ropes, so someone in your party must be able to lead. If you do not have all of your gear with you in Panama, you can rent everything you need down in town.

Rainy season in Boquete is from September to November. During these months, it is best to climb in the morning before the afternoon rains come. You will still have ample time to get yourself tired on this rock before the rains come if you get out there early enough.
