Log some exercise today by climbing the stairs up the dune!
Feel the burn in your calves and thighs! If you don't feel it, pick up the pace or do it all again! The good news is it is actually just a large dune, not an entire mountain. It should not take you very long to run, even though there are over 200 steps here. Every 25th stair is marked and there are benches kindly placed on the way up and at the top.
There is free parking at 2280 Ottawa Beach Rd, Holland, MI 49424. From the lot, cross the street and walk about 750ft north (away from Holland State Park). The entrance to Mt. Pisgah is elaborate and hard to miss, and it is just after Dune Dogz.
Your reward for completing the climb is a nice view of Lake Mackatawa as well as the beach at Holland State Park. You also probably deserve a milkshake or a corn dog from Dune Dogz, which is conveniently on your way back to the car.
If you feel like you didn't do enough to merit a treat, you can continue the workout by following the boardwalk at the top of the dune down into the forest. There are several trails back there, with one leading into the campground and one leading out to Lake Michigan Avenue that, if followed, will take you about a half mile around the block from Dune Dogz. Another option is just to keep ascending and descending the stairs to match the level of exertion you desire!

Reviews
No day at the Holland State Park is complete without taking in the views at the top of Mt. Pisgah. The ascent offers plenty of look-outs and rest stops along the way up. The walkway is well maintained, and the scenery of the dunes and lakes certainly takes more breath away than the stairs themselves. Parking can be limited, and note no dogs allowed.

Over 200 stairs to the top, but you achieve a unique view of the lake and Holland State Park that you just can't get anywhere else! The trails connected to the top are also a really fun side adventure through the neighboring woods. A great way to start or finish your day at the beach!
