Climb the Tower at Hallgrimskirkja
Reykjavík, Iceland
Description
Added by Alex Tande
Great birds eye view of Reykjavik! And who doesn't love a statue of Lief Erickson?
Just a part of something to do while in Reykjavik. There is an epic church that stands out strong against the skyline.
Inside the church there is an impressive organ inside of the church. Most importantly about the church is the clock tower, and the birds eye view of Reykjavik in 360 degree views. It does cost 8 dollars to climb it, but there was nobody checking tickets when we went. The elevator takes you up the majority of the way and then about 3 or 4 flights of stairs after that.

The best part is definitely the views of the colorful city beside the ocean. In my opinion it’s too quick and accessible not to do.

If you're in the city, climb the tower for the best birds-eye view. Yes, you don't come to Iceland for city views. But it's a pretty unique city and I loved all the colours. It felt a little bit like looking down on Legoland (and yes, I know that's Danish) but if you look at the pictures, you'll know what I mean).

I cannot say that this was the best place I visited in Reykjavik, but I was kinda impressed by the modern architecture of the church. Not something you encounter often.
