Take a short, quick walk to this natural water slide from parking area. You can slide any time of day as long as the sun is up. Lifeguards are on duty from during the summer from 10am to 6pm.

This natural mountain waterfall and slide in the Pisgah National Forest is a local favorite to cool off in and have a little fun during the warmer months. You can walk up the line to the top of the falls and have a quick wait as others go down this 60 foot boulder.

This water varies between 50-60 degrees, so make sure you head there on a warmer day. Once you reach the base of the falls, you'll make a splash into an 8 foot deep pool, with minimal swimming distance to get back in line for your next ride down. Don't worry about getting stuck, there are 11,000 gallons of water flowing to help send you down the boulder.

If taking a dip isn't your thing, there are plenty of dry places to relax and watch others hit the falls.

This unique site is great to slide down the rock, take a shallow swim or simply wade in the water. Enjoy your time watching others are basking in the sun. There is a lifeguard on duty during peak season.

This is a great place to swim! The sliding rock is a ton of fun to go down!

I've gone a couple times on different occasions and while each time the water chilled me down to the bone I had tons of fun. Steer clear of the left side of the slide as it gets bumpy and dangerous and the path leading to the slide is very slippery but with a safe approach it's an experience I hope to do again.

Its definitely worth the wait in the summer. If you go later in the day you don't have to pay. I think it five dollars a person, which isn't bad but could add up if you have a big group.

That moment you hit the water for the first time....wow. It literally takes your breath away. Be prepared for a very cool plunge, but its well worth the ride!

I have been here before I became crippled. Now only a Prayer and the Lord could let me go again. Great thought! Beautiful place...

What an amazing way to cool off after a day of hiking and exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway! If you're there in the summer, prepare to wait in line but it's well worth it!
