Drive Aguereberry Point Road

Harrisburg, California

Description

Added by John Maurizi

This is a remote dirt road to an impressive view point seldom visited. Along the way to the point you can also explore the Eureka Mine and Aguereberry Camp.

This was one of the more enjoyable drives I did in the park. I explored the area late one afternoon, checking out Aguereberry Camp and the Eureka Mine when I decided to explore further up to the end of Aguereberry Road.

The drive is awesome, especially late in the day.  The road is accessible by two wheel car but the last few hundred yards are steep but easy enough.  At the end is a wide are for a few cars to park and be able to make a u-turn.  Exit your car and explore around for a bit if time permits.  There is an interpretive sign at the point and great views of the Amargosa Range in the distance and in the foreground, the Devils Golf Course and Badwater Basin to the right.

This is a great place for a picnic and enjoy the views in this remote setting.
