Short hike alongside the Delaware River that leads up to a small waterfall.
Drive 5.2 miles north on Route 29 from the center of Stockton, NJ and you will come across a very small parking lot on the left side of the road. If you park your car there, walk back south on Route 29 about 50 feet, and cross over to the woods-side of the road. There you will find the trailhead to this rewarding hike. You have two options when you begin. You can either take the trail all the way up to the waterfall, or if the water flow isn't too strong you can climb up through the rocks. I use the term "climb" loosely here; you could make it up with basic sneakers on. If you do choose to take the rock route, you will need to cross back over to the trail about 3/4 through the hike in order to continue up to the waterfall. The trail follows along the right side of the water. There are several small pools along the way, some of them being maybe 5 or 6 feet deep at most. The waterfall at the end of the hike is about 10 feet tall, and drops into the largest pool on the trail. The flow of water varies greatly, depending on the amount of rainfall in the days preceding your visit. If it hasn't rained in a while, the water will be completely stagnant, and you will be surely disappointed. That being said, make sure you pay attention to the weather, and visit this spot after a day of rain.
The waterfall is accessible year round, but it's best in spring and fall.

Reviews
A friend who knows I love the outdoors and photography suggested I visit Kugler Woods Waterfall. The waterfall is tiny but I got some great long exposure shots on my iPhone 6 (try the Pro Cam app) and Nikon DSLR. It was too cold on the early (7AM) morning when I visited. Best light is most likely the blue hour at the end of the day. The waterfall faces west.
