Escape from the desert heat. Close to Phoenix. Multiple picnic and camping areas. Great for boating/water sports. Several lake access points.

Located just 30 minutes from the outskirts of Phoenix, AZ lies a 10,000 acre desert oasis known as Pleasant Lake Regional Park. This expansive body of water serves as a great opportunity to beat the heat of the central Arizona sun, while taking in the beauty of the vivid blue waters and surrounding desert landscape.

Water sports remain the main draw of Pleasant Lake. With a large marina, two boat launching points and several lake access points, it's easy to find your way into the pleasantly cool waters. Boat and jetski rentals are available, as well as multiple sites for both RV and tent camping. These campsites can be found at both the Roadrunner and Desert Tortoise Campgrounds.

Three pedestrian trails exist within the park rated for easy and moderate hiking. These include the Honeymoon Trail (1.9 miles, easy), the Pipeline Canyon Trail (2.0 miles, moderate), and the Roadrunner Trail (0.8 miles, easy).

High temperatures are common in the area and special consideration should be taken in the summer months when temperatures are at their peak. Always pack sunscreen or a beach umbrella, and enough water for each person in your group.

Reviews

This is a nice lake close to Phoenix. The weekends are very busy with lots of boaters.

Great lake, not too far outside of Phoenix. Great spot for kayaking :)

The pipeline connector TRAIL was very nice and we saw three donkeys. We brought my 7 year old daughter and 3 year old niece and they loved it.
