No excuses for missing out on this scenic and accessible waterfall in the gorgeous Little River Canyon.

Little River Falls is a popular site within the Little River Canyon National Preserve, a 12 mile long, 600 ft deep canyon.

The 45-foot falls can be accessible from two different vantage points – either via a paved but steep path from the parking lot down to an overlook, or by driving to a higher lookout on Canyon Rim Drive (the easier of the two). You can also sometimes catch sight of Grace's High Falls from Canyon Rim Drive.

From the parking lot, there is a wooden walkway that goes down to an overlook for Little River Falls. A popular thing to do is to walk to the very end of the wooden walkway and hop over the wooden railing to gain access to the top of the falls. Walking the other direction there is a sign that leads down to Martha's Falls (otherwise known as the "Hippie Hole"). Little River Falls is also really popular place for swimming and cliff jumping during the hot summer months.

Nearby picnic tables can make this a scenic lunchtime stop.

Little River Falls is not only a great photo, its also the best way to enter the river if you are planning on kayaking here. There are some crazy class V and VI rapids right after the falls, but there are also some calmer sections of the river with really pretty blue water.

I visited this waterfall on my way back from DeSoto Falls. It is only a 20 minute detour back to the interstate. It takes less than 3 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the waterfall overlook. Once here, there is not much to do, but, with the size of the waterfall and ease of access, this stop is a no-brainer.

This place is a hidden gem. Every time I explore this area there are barely any other people in the whole Little River Canyon National Preserve. If you're in the area and you won't be disappointed.
