Description

"The hidden beach of Bellingham," Locust Beach is a cute but long, rocky shoreline on the north side of Bellingham Bay.
The trail to Locust Beach is very easy to find. Parking on Locust Avenue is available from dawn to dusk on the side of the road, and in a small gravel lot. Follow the road towards the water, and continue right on a small but well-marked trail down to the beach. Be careful - the stairs are kind of steep and can be slippery when wet.
Locust Beach continues in both directions once on shore. At low tide, the pilings in the water (remnants of old docks some say) can be reached by wading or by kayak. These are, as many have discovered, perfect for setting up a hammock!
Explore the beach, take in the bay, but remember to leave no trace. Please make sure the beach is pristine when you leave!

Reviews
Easy little hike through the woods to get here. Very cool sandstone structures line the beach, makes for some fun little perches to sit and watch the water and surrounding islands. Recommend going at low tide to get access to the full beach.
