Explore Navarro Beach
Albion, California
Description
Added by Josh Currie
This raw Northern California beach just south of Mendocino is an incredible place to explore with beautiful landscape and zero crowds.
Northern California beaches are not your typical soft sand, warm water, grab a surf board type of spots. Of course when the weather is cooperating you can enjoy those activities as well! What makes this spot so special is how few people ever come and enjoy the raw beauty of this landscape.
If you take Highway 128 all the way to the coast, it is the first beach you run into once you see the sea. Otherwise the only way to get here is taking Highway 1, which is an adventure in itself.
The beach it pretty massive and there are large rocks jutting out of the ocean, including one that has a hole in it giving it the shape of an arch. There are also a number of camp sites on the beach if you are looking to spend the night, which I would recommend. Also, the quaint town of Mendocino is less than 10 miles north if you are interested in stopping through.
There is so much to explore in this area so spending a weekend would be a good amount of time to take in the beauty of it all!
