Explore Rainier's Christine and Narada Falls
Ashford, Washington
Description

Easily accessible. Short Hikes. Big Waterfalls.
Driving along Paradise Road on the south side of Mount Rainier, provides a couple of opportunities to view gorgeous waterfalls with a short hike. From the West, the first stop is Christine Falls. There is parking on either side side of the bridge, but the east side is closest to the trail. Descend down the short trail to a magical viewpoint of Christine Falls framed by the stone bridge.
From here you can see the lower 37' tier of the falls. The 32' upper tier is visible by crossing the bridge at road level. Christine Falls was named after the daughter of P.B. Van Trump, who was one of the first ascenders of Mt Rainier, and the namesake of the Van Trump Creek which flows through Christine Falls.
Continuing eastward on Paradise Road for another 4 miles you will reach Narada Falls. There is a large parking lot with access to restrooms and a water fountain. The walk down to the viewpoint is longer and steeper than for Christine Falls, but it also takes you much closer to the falls. Narada Falls plunges 176' and can spread up to 75' wide.

Reviews
These waterfalls are great leg-stretchers on your way into the Longmire/ Paradise area. Well worth the stop & short hike before or after a longer outing

Briefly visited the area several years ago and stopped to see both of these. Definitely well worth it!
