Stroll down the most colorful street in Paris. Amazing atmosphere and photo opportunities abound. Rue Cremieux is an off-the-beaten-path street in Paris that is not to be missed.

A street so small and non-descript that unless you plan to visit it or stumble onto it, is something that could be easily missed. A quirky street in the heart of Paris, Rue Crémieux is a tiny yet enormously colorful street and a great place to explore for photographers

The street, which is pedestrian only, is located 3 blocks northwest of Gare de Lyon - one of the major train stations in Paris. Situated between Rue d’Austerlitz and Rue Traversiere, the walk from the Gare de Lyon station is only 5 minutes. If you are not coming from Gare de Lyon, its just a 5-7 minute walk from the nearest Metro stations as well. The two closest stations are Ledru-Rollin (on the 8 line) and Quai de la Rapee (on the 5 line).

Once you find the street dubbed the "Notting Hill of Paris," simply stroll down it and take in the gorgeous facades and distinct architecture. As mentioned earlier, as the street is pedestrian only it allows for some remarkable photo opportunities with little to block your shot - outside of the occasional clueless tourist. One final thing to look for is the Rue Cremieux’s resident cat. A staple of the street, the distinctly orange cat can often be found wandering the street, sitting in front of L’Hotel Particulier, or simply sleeping away curled up inside of the flower pots which line the street.

The street has an amazing atmosphere for a city full of it and is not to be missed. Take a stroll down it and enjoy.
