Explore the Abandoned Factory at Peter Island
Honeymoon Beach, British Virgin Islands
Description
Added by Josh Currie
Walk through an abandoned cigar factory and mansion in the Little Harbour on Peter Island.
Peter Island has a number of attractions on it but the abandoned mansion and factory in Little Harbour is one that not many people go exploring.
Apparently the cigar factory was operated by the owners who lived on the hill nearby. It was built in the 1920's and was abandoned when none of the heirs to the factory and home wanted to live there because of the expense so they just left it.
Now not to be spooky about it as I was told the area was uninhabited, but as I was exploring through the factory I started to notice a number of wild goats tied up to trees each spread out around the property. I did not run into anybody but that clearly means someone is cashing in on some wild goat and living there with a broken roof over their head.
Definitely eery and I got out of there pretty quickly afterwards as to not upset or run into whomever was squatting.
Other than the abandoned buildings, as always there is incredible snorkeling and swimming to be had in the beautiful bay!
