The Harding Falls Trail is an ~6-mile hike easily accessible from Orange County for experienced hikers looking for some solitude and scenic views.
The lot provides free parking, with plenty of spaces available throughout the day.
The first few miles feature a descent into the canyon on a defined trail out in the open. The way back up is a decent incline in the sun!
Be prepared, because even though 6+ miles may not seem too hard, this hike was a few hours of climbing over and under fallen trees, rocks, poison oak, spider webs with spiders, crossing the stream and looking for the non existent trail after a few miles. Once you get yourself into the shaded regions of the hike you will have about a mile and a half left to go. This part is the technical portion (i.e. the trail becomes faint) as you wind your way up a creek bed. Nothing too scary, but poles are your best friend here. Watch for poison oak and snakes!
The waterfall was flowing when we were there and the scenic views and small water pools make for a refreshing and enjoyable hike.
