Reviews
Such a great trail, especially in Spring and early Summer when grass is green and wildflowers are blooming. The hills can be brutal but beautiful views of Mt Diablo and the East Bay make it worth it.

This hike is one of my go-tos when I need to get outdoors but don’t have time to go to the mountains or woods. The trailhead starts right at the lower reservoir parking lot (find it right behind the fish washing station at the front entrance) and will lead OMG our Ona 5m loop around the rim of the hills surrounding the reservoir. A lot of steep climbs to be rewarded with amazing views. Just be careful going after a rain and the mud can make it tricky to navigate the downhills!
