A quick trail to the top, a playground, and awesome space for outdoor movie nights. What more can you ask for?

If you're exploring the little city of Mount Maunganui and got a little bit of time on your hand before climbing, well... Mount Maunganui, then take a quick peak to the top of Mount Drury Reserve! Historically, this reserve is famous for its early Maori burial caves. The climb will take an easy 5 minutes up and give you a different view of Mount Maunganui and the harbor.

You can't miss it. It's right at the end of the city shopping strips, surrounded by plenty of great cafes, bars, and restaurants, and right across the street from the beautiful beach for some sun and chill surf.

You can take the kids to the park, bring a picnic, and even enjoy an outdoor film with the Mount Drury Night Owl Cinema around 8:30 pm (poppin' during the summer times. Their Facebook page is also a good resource. Also, bring a hammock! Thank me later.)

Mount Maunganui isn't huge, but there's a lot of cool things to check out in the city and you'll always find a comfortable spot to hang out when you walk around or to the top of this reserve.
