Explore the University of Wisconsin Arboretum

Madison, Wisconsin

Description

Added by Natalie F

The UW Arboretum features 1,2000 acres and more than 17 miles of trails.

It is filled with effigy mounds, thousands of plant and animal species, and unlimited places to explore.  You can run, hike, bike, and even drive through the Arboretum.  There is a visitor center and you can host an event here.

Trail info

One of my favorite trails is in the Grady Tract area near Greene Prairie.

There are two entrances:

  • The east entrance is located at: Wingra Drive and Haywood Drive, Madison, WI (near St. Mary’s Hospital); if you click on the directions via Outbound (above) this is the entrance you will be taken to
  • The west entrance is located at: Arboretum Dr, Madison, WI 53711 (off Seminole or Fish Hatchery depending which way you come).
