This is an easy way to get up close and person with unique ocean life in Olympic National Park.
Parking at Kalaloch Beach 4 provides an easy walk to Olympic National Park's infamous tidal pools. With the correct tide schedule you will be able to explore and see ocean life such as starfish and sea anemones up close and personal. Kalaloch Beach 4 isn't the only place to explore tidal pools. You can also see them at Ruby Beach or Mora's Hole in the Wall.
Exploring tidal pools is fun for both kids and adults. There are ranger led tidal pool adventures or you can go out on your own. We suggest stopping at the ranger station and picking up a tide schedule.
You will want to arrive about 30 minutes before lowest tide, which will give you time to walk around and explore the tide pools before the tide turns and starts coming back in. Its very important to watch the tide and keep to your schedule. The tide can come back in unexpectedly and catch you off guard. Pay attention to the park ranger's advice.
Finally bring sturdy sneakers or hiking shoes with a solid rubber sole. Walking around barefoot might cut your feet.

Reviews
The views aren't as breathtaking as Ruby Beach, but it is much less crowded and a beautiful place to visit

Kalaloch is one of my favorite beaches on the Olympic Coast. Easy access from HWY101, nice tide pools, cabins and camping with reservations.
