Explore Tunnel Park
Holland, Michigan
Description

A beautiful place to explore next to Lake Michigan!
Of course, you can come any time of the year, this is always a lovely small park! It is guaranteed to be crowded and cost money (unless you have the Ottawa County park pass) in the summer, though, and I've had better luck with parking and personal space at Holland State Park. I've found that the fall is the perfect time to enjoy the sunset and the waves here without getting lost in the crowds and worrying about people messing your landscape/scenery photos up.
The coolest thing about this park is the tunnel through the dune, which can be found tucked away to the north side of the park back by the bathrooms. You can also climb the stairs or sand slope to the top of the dune, and there are stairs leading down on the lake side. The beach is quite small, both in width and depth, but if it is fall you probably aren't here to swim anyways. Take some pictures, enjoy the cool breeze, and throw a disc around while you wait for the distinct colors of the fall sunset!

Reviews
I went to this park in early Spring when it was still cold out, but this park was great nonetheless! We climbed the stairs and explored the tunnel itself, and both were fun experiences! It wasn't a traditional summer beach day, but we enjoyed passing a soccer ball and frisbee on the beach as we watched the sun set over the water!
