Explore Watson Mill Covered Bridge
Comer, Georgia
Description
Added by Jared Beeler
Beautiful historic covered bridge and surrounding river.
Watson Mill State Park has many different things to offer. The main attraction is the Watson Mill covered bridge. It is the longest covered bridge in Georgia it was built in 1885. The bridge is still driveable today as long as you are in a smaller vehicle I did it in a minivan and had plenty of room. The Watson Mill bridge showcases the historic acheivement of the times and how people would have gotten around in the 1800s. The bridge was built by the son of a freed slave and a famous covered bridge architect.
Another cool feature of this park is the swimming and kayaking in the South Fork river.
The park also offers horseback riding with an 11 spot equestrian campground and a 21 spot RV/Tent campground. If in an RV or towing a trailer be sure to read the directions on the state park Website. For resorvations also visit the website or simply call the State Park.
