For the ultimate fall experience (we're talking a jaw-dropping patchwork of colorful trees), drive the Peak to Peak Highway between Nederland and Estes Park. This 55-mile stretch of road has some of the best scenery in Colorado, and is a great starting point for a trip into Rocky Mountain National Park.

On the less-than-perfect-weather days, hone your technique at one of the area's climbing gyms. Boulder is known to have some of the best indoor rock climbing in the country. A-Lodge partners with The Spot Bouldering Gym and Movement Climbing and Fitness.
Just a short drive from downtown Boulder, the Eagle Sage Loop is an easy place to get out for a short hike surrounded by beautiful scenery. You might share the area with a few cows, as the 3.75-mile loop travels through a historic and working cattle ranch. The trail is accessible year round and pretty flat, so don't worry if there's a skiff of late fall snow on the ground...the hiking will still be stellar.

Boulder is a mecca for road cyclists. High altitude, good roads, and a wide variety of routes make the area a popular training ground for amateur and professional riders. Conveniently, one of the best rides starts right outside the A-Lodge. Clip in and wind your way 12 miles up Fourmile Canyon Road to Salina. Check with the staff at A-Lodge for other great rides and info on where to rent a road bike.
