Hang out at PWC Beach in Lake Mead National Recreation Area

Boulder City, Nevada

Description

Less than an hour from Vegas, this national recreation area has a ton to offer.

This man-made lake on the Colorado River is underrated in my opinion.  It has everything an outdoor enthusiast could want from scuba diving, hiking, horseback riding, all kinds of water sports, and plenty of camping options.

This beach is near Boulder City.  Use the Boulder City Entrance, go north on Lakeshore Road for 2 miles. Turn right and follow the signs to the lake.

  • watercrafts and pets allowed
  • no overnight camping here

Reviews

Stopped here on the way back from Zion. Nice place to stop and stretch your legs. You can take a little swim too

This is a good area to access Lake Mead to go for a paddle or to hang out at the beach. There is no camping here but it's a great place for a day on the lake or a quick stop when traveling past Hoover Dam.

This is a great place to stop on your way back from Zion NP to Las Vegas. I wouldn't recommend going here on the way there, as Valley of Fire is also a great stop, and has more to explore.
