Walden pond makes for a beautiful afternoon! The pond trail circumnavigated the pond through easy (but narrow) paths and sand filled beaches. There are other more elevated paths around the area. You can swim, kayak, canoe, paddle board, or just enjoy the pond. Certain parts of the beach are filled with people on nice afternoons but walking halfway around you can get a nice private spot to soak up the nature and beautiful day. A must go on a open sky!

This place is overrun with children and families in the summer, but if you wait to go in the fall once it gets a little cooler it's very peaceful. You will almost have the place to yourself on the colder days. The views of the lake are stunning, and the trails are long enough to enjoy the solitude. Easy hike, but I see the appeal of this place. If you do go in the summer, wear a swimsuit. The best part is jumping in the cool water after hiking the perimeter.
