Beckler Peak

Looking for a gradual forest hike up to a peak with 360° views of the Cascades? Beckler Peak trail winds through old growth, past rushing waterfalls, and up to a granite summit. From the top, you can see mountains in the Cascades such as Glacier Peak, Mount Baring, Mount Index, Evergreen Mountain, Mount Rainier, and the Monte Cristo Range. You can also see Blanca Lake from the summit! I didn't capture pictures of all these peaks, but it was still an unreal day above the clouds the day I went. You will have to go for yourself to see!! Most years, Beckler Peak is only accessible summer-fall, however, check with the ranger station for winter trail conditions.

Drive past Skykomish on Highway 2 and turn left two miles past the ranger station onto FR 6066. Continue up the winding well-maintained gravel road and take the fork right at 1.8 miles. The trailhead is 6.6 miles total up FR 6066. The parking lot holds 15-20 cars and there dis a toilet at the trailhead.

The first 0.8 takes you up an old logging road. Continue up the trail and take in the views of Wild Sky Wilderness at the saddle. At 2.0 miles, enter the mossy old growth forest and stop by the remains of an old cabin! Switchbacks through the woods take you up to the granite summit of Beckler Peak to complete the hike at 3.7 miles and final elevation at 5,063 feet. I love this hike because the trailhead is located far enough away from any highways so all you hear is the sounds of the wilderness! In early season, make sure to check with the ranger station to see if microspikes/snowshoes are needed to complete this trail. Excellent choice for a day hike adventure!!
