Navasota River Trail is an approximately 3.4 mile out and back trail following along the Navasota with several viewpoints located near Mexia, TX. This is a great trail for hiking, running, or simply stretching your legs. Dogs are welcome on the trail on-leash. 

Springfield Nature Trail is a loop trail that runs along the southeast side of Springfield Lake in Fort Parker State Park located near Mexia, TX. This trail is used by both hikers and runners and is family friendly. Dogs are permitted on this trail. 

The Chalk Ridge Falls Trail can be found within Chalk Ridge Falls Park just outside of Belton, Texas. The trail features one main waterfall as well as a neat suspension bridge. The hike to the waterfall and the bridge are not but about half a mile from the parking lot. Overall the trail is about 2.5 miles long and is an out-and-back trail.
