Wildflowers and a rolling landscape make for an aesthetic and stimulating hike. This hike is just outside of Bandera, TX - close to San Antonio. The trail is moderately strenuous.
Hike in the designated area up the road from the Bandera State Nature Area border (see map). Trail is accessible from March to October and is dog-friendly. The trails are well marked and fairly well maintained.
Directions from Bandera, TX:
Travel south on State Highway 173, go across the Medina River and continue for approximately 1/4 mile to State Highway 1077, turn right and go 10 miles on State Highway 1077 to end of the black top. Continue on the caliche road and follow the park signs to the park headquarters.
