Description

This is an incredible hike in Franconia Notch State Park with multiple waterfalls along the way. Also possible to reach the summit of Mount Lincoln.

Falling Waters Trail takes you up to the summit of Little Haystack Mountain, and Mount Lincoln and Mount Lafayette if you continue to the Franconia Ridge Trail / Appalachian Trail, then over to Old Bridle Path.

Also along Falling Waters Trail are stunning waterfalls. The most popular one is Cloudland Waterfall at an 80 foot height, this waterfall is a fan-type horsetail. The beauty of this waterfall comes from its fan shape, measuring roughly 2 feet at the top, and 25 feet at the bottom. It can be seen right from the trail, but you can also step off the trail a bit to get a closer look. It takes 1.4 miles to reach the Cloudland Falls.

Reviews

It was my first hike in New Hampshire and I love it. There's plenty of waterfalls and they are just getting bigger and bigger as you reach a higher point in the trail. We did the loop up to Mt Lafayette using this trail and the view at the top is work all the hike ! Would definetely recommand it and come back ! It was supposed to rain the day we did it, but we really had great conditions until we reach the summit when it started to hail. Catch a small thunder storm on the way back, but it was still an awesome day!
