This tight, winding canyon road is only accessible by car from the east and is a convenient stop along the way to Ubehebe Crater.
In total its about 22 miles from Stovepipe Wells. From Stovepipe, head east on the 190 and make the left for Scotty's Castle Rd. Continue another 19 miles down until you can turn off onto the dirt track that leads to Titus Canyon. When you arrive in the parking lot, you'll see Do Not Enter signs, but that is just for your vehicle. You can park and walk as far up into the canyon as you please, and scramble around what rocks you feel are safe. There is a slightly open space between the Upper and Lower Narrows that is a good place for lunch.
Unfortunately camping is prohibited in the canyon, probably due to flash flood concerns. I call this a reverse hike because the canyon operates as a one way street from the east to the west and I hiked in west to east (and then back out to my car).
