This one’s is nice and close to town… which also means VERY busy in the summer. If you hit it at the right time you can get the trail and views mostly to yourself. The sunsets here are beautiful looking out over the lake. The parking lot is good size but definitely not large enough for the traffic this trail gets.

Fun hike with some great views of Lake Coeur d’Alene. Took the family and they all enjoyed it. Our 3 year old was able to do most of it, just had to take our time. Of note: the parking lot just south of the actual parking lot is private property. The couple that owns the land came and talked to us. They were very polite, but wanted us to know. They said they’ve had people cover their signs, steal them, make it looks like it says “Parking” instead of “No parking.” I told them we’d help spread the word.

Good for beginners. Easy to navigate and find. Gorgeous views up top to enjoy.

We clocked elevation at nearer 700 feet so don’t be put off. Don’t turn back at caribou cabin, but carry on the loop for an incredible open view of the lake from the end of the ridge. Easy hike, our three and a half year old managed the whole thing with a brief stop at the cabin for a snack.

Very chill hike. Okay view and good hammock spots.

Love this hike! Born and raised and this trail/views never get old. Good workout, easy to walk, run, take your dog too! If you've never done it, DO IT!

Nice easy hike. Definitely doable for all ages and levels. Nice views!

Took our three kids (11, 9, 6) for an afternoon hike up to the ridge. Loved the mine and the views out over the lake on the way back down were incredible!

Doesn't take a long time to reach the top. There are many other trails that go further onto the hill from the picnic table at the top, however. View was decent for the easy hike.

If you're looking for a quick outdoors fix this is a perfect day hike that only takes a few hours and has a lovely view of beauty bay.
